South Council Small Business Leader of the Year

We would like to congratulate Pete Denholm of Supporting Strategies Supporting Strategies as South Council Small Business Leader of the Year!

Pete Denholm is the managing director of Supporting Strategies | Northeast Florida, one the largest outsourced bookkeeping firms on the First Coast. Pete brings his clients into the 21st century by transitioning them into the cloud reducing their bookkeeping labor by up to 50%. He is a business management consultant with over 20 years of experience in operations and financial management. While working for KPMG, PwC, Grant Thornton, and Fortune 50 companies, he specialized in helping organizations improve their financial and business operations. He found the work so rewarding that he launched Supporting Strategies | Northeast Florida in 2014, which has earned Top Accounting Firm kudos in the Jacksonville Business Journal.
He is a member of the Rotary Club of Jacksonville, Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce. Pete holds a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from the George Washington University and is proud to be a former Marine. Outside of work, Pete applies his creative problem-solving skills to woodworking and sailing. Ask him about navigating the Pacific Ocean in a 39-foot sailboat.

South Council Luncheon Speaker

John Rutherford (FL-04) is serving his second term in the U.S. House of Representatives. He sits on the House Appropriations Committee where he serves on three subcommittees: Homeland Security, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Transportation and Housing and Urban Development.

John has lived in Jacksonville, Florida since 1958, and attended Florida Junior College and Florida State University where he studied Criminology. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, 171st Session and the National Executive Institute. He began his career in law enforcement in 1974 as a patrolman in the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, working his way up through the JSO where he eventually served as Director.
