Kent Justice
News4Jax Co‐Anchor

Kent Justice co-anchors News4Jax 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts weeknights and hosts “This Week in Jacksonville,” Channel 4’s hot topics and politics public affairs show each Sunday morning at 9 a.m. Civic leaders, business professionals, and nonprofit activists spend time in conversation with Kent about the big issues in our area.

As political reporter, Kent has covered inaugurations, national political party conventions and local races for public office (and everything in between). Kent is a seasoned debate moderator, working alongside Jake Tapper for CNN in a nationwide televised debate between Florida Governors. Rick Scott and Charlie Crist in 2014.

Kent has been involved in community causes since he arrived in Northeast Florida in 2010. These include Alzheimer’s Association Central and North Florida Chapter, board of directors for the Civic Orchestra of Jacksonville HandsOn Jacksonville, PACT Prevention Coalition of St. Johns County, the ASSIST program for homeless youth in St. Johns County Schools and the Communications Academy Advisory Board at Nease High School in Ponte Vedra. Kent also serves as a volunteer at his home church in Nocatee and helps these organizations with events: UF Health Night for Heroes; Leukemia & Lymphoma Society; National Philanthropy Day; Mayo Clinic; National Brain Tumor Society.

Kent says he has a passion for sharing the important stories in each person’s life, through any medium available. “The assignment I truly loved, though, was as a consumer advocate. Working to help people solve their problems, especially when they were being taken advantage of. That’s so rewarding to me.”

He has reported in Columbus, Ohio, in California (Santa Barbara and the Central Coast), in South Dakota and in Montana. Kent launched his professional journalism career at 17 years old as a sports writer for a large San Francisco area newspaper chain.

Ken also has another career as financial planner with Dobbs Wealth Advisors in Jacksonville Beach.
